In the old days a cruise meant long weeks at sea, shuffleboard on deck and white glove service for elegantly gowned ladies and tuxedo clad gentlemen. You can still find that experience or you can hop onboard for a weekend, rock climbing 10 stories above the ocean, float in the pool while watching “Movies at Sea” or play miniature golf on the cruise of your choice.
When it’s time for dinner you’ll have the same range of options – elegant 5 course dining, intimate specialty restaurants, elaborate buffets, hamburger joints, sushi bars, pizzerias and cabin service. There is something for everyone!
The major cruise lines offer an endless variety of onboard entertainment and many days begin at sunrise and end when the last guest is worn out. Most activities are included with your cruise so it’s the perfect time to try something new – perhaps a yoga lesson, try your hand at the slots, dance the night away at one of the clubs (no driving to get home), or enjoy a simple steam and sauna at the end of a hard day by the pool. First run movies and Broadway or Vegas style shows are also included and there is usually no cover charge, no dress code and no reservation required. Enjoy!
Today’s cruise Itineraries run the gamut from island hopping in the Caribbean to country hopping in Europe, viewing Alaska’s glaciers and visiting the exotic creatures of the Galapagos and Antarctic. You can transit the Panama Canal, take a river cruise past castles, see the highlights of Asia or explore the Amazon jungle. Simply put, where there is water there is a cruise!
